SpaceX postpones launch of Starlink satellites due to bad weather

The press service of SpaceX reported that due to adverse weather conditions, the launch of the Falcon 9 heavy launch vehicle with another batch of 49 Starlink mini-satellites was postponed by a day, Interfax reports.

“Given more favorable weather conditions for the launch and landing of the first stage, we now plan to launch a Falcon 9 rocket with Starlink satellites on Tuesday, January 18 at 17:04 US East Coast time (Wednesday, January 19 at 01:00 04 Moscow time)», — The announcement reads.

The launch is to take place from Launch Complex 39A at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

This will be the 36th deployment of a group of Internet satellites since May 2019 of the year as part of the Starlink project. 

Recall that the Starlink network is designed to provide the inhabitants of the Earth with broadband Internet access. In total, the American company is going to deploy 11,000 satellites in orbit. The total cost of this project is estimated at ten billion dollars.

The SpaceX orbital constellation already consists of 1991 spacecraft.
