The Ka-226T” Climber “light helicopter completed its first test 12 -minute flight to the suburbs. The car was piloted by testers Alexander Cherednichenko and Maxim Bespaly. According to the developer, the helicopter is maximally adapted for flights in the highlands. The helicopter has excellent aerodynamic characteristics. Lightweight materials, new elements of the main rotor of the coaxial scheme, blades, and a protected fuel system are used. All this provides good controllability in the thin air conditions in the highlands. It is resistant to strong crosswinds in flight, has a high rate of climb, and can take off and land on high altitude areas. There is a high demand in the world for helicopters designed for flights in the mountains, including for rescuing climbers in trouble.
