According to the President, Russian border guards in the regions bordering Ukraine “act clearly” and show courage in suppressing sabotage and provocations
Russian border services are clearly acting in areas of the military operation and prevent any attempts of sabotage and provocation in the areas bordering Ukraine. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his congratulations on the Day of the Border Guard.
“I will especially note the clear and courageous actions of the personnel of the Border Guard Service of Russia to suppress various kinds of provocations and attempts to carry out sabotage— First of all, we are talking about the sections of our state border in the areas of the special military operation,— as well as the consistent work of the service to identify militants of neo-Nazi groups, your participation in organizing the passage of refugees, helping women, children, the elderly, everyone who is looking for salvation and protection in Russia, & mdash; said the head of state.
Putin added that he also expects from the border guards “an effective, professional solution to the whole range of other extremely responsible tasks assigned to the border service, including in the field of ensuring the country's economic security.”
The President also drew attention to the fact that the tasks facing the border guards are especially significant in the context of unprecedented political, economic, informational pressure on Russia, the buildup of NATO's military potential directly at the country's borders.

Since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the authorities of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kemerovo and Kursk regions have repeatedly reported shelling from Ukrainian territory, as well as sabotage at infrastructure facilities. In these regions, in the north of Crimea and in the territory of several districts of the Krasnodar Territory, a yellow terrorist threat level has been introduced since April 11.
The special regime involves the enhanced work of all law enforcement agencies, and residents of the regions are advised to avoid mass gatherings, always take bring an identity card with you and be vigilant.
On April 27, the FSB announced the detention of two Russians while attempting to sabotage one of Belgorod's transport infrastructure facilities. In a video published by the special service, the detainees said they wanted to damage the railway tracks in the Belgorod region, along which Russian military trains move. One of the detainees said that he “was looking for access to the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, in particular the SBU.”
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 30 and part 1 of Art. 281 of the Criminal Code (preparation for sabotage). The maximum punishment under this article provides for up to 15 years in prison.
