He also drew attention to Yerevan's intention to use the CSTO mechanisms in the settlement. This decision was made in Armenia after an armed clash with Azerbaijani forces on the border. A clash with explosions and gunfire, which could be heard several kilometers away, took place near Goris, a large city in the Syunik region of Armenia.

Clashes in the Syunik region of Armenia and the Kelbajar region of Azerbaijan have been going on for six months already. This is due to the transfer of the Kelbajar region, which was under the control of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), to Azerbaijan as a result of the war. As a result, where the administrative border between NKR and Armenia was located, a border of two warring states appeared.
